Another accident involving Transjakarta bus occurred in Central Jakarta, Friday (7/23). A motorcyclist identified as Nabrudin (48) was hit by a Transjakarta bus of B 7034 BI plying the route of Kampung Melayu-Ancol at 12 am in the area of Manggarai.
Nabrudin, who was riding Yamaha Jupiter B 6425 PLH, was intending to U turn from Jl Kramat Raya to Jl Raya Salemba, right in front of Central Jakarta police office, as the bus driven by Didi (28) slammed into his vehicle. He sustained injuries on his arms and forehead. He was then immediately taken to a police office’s clinic.
Edi (34), an eye witness at the location, said the victim escaped a fatal accident because the bus engine suddenly stopped; otherwise, the bus must have run over his body. Shortly after that, some people around the scene, to express their anger, came over the bus and damaged the bus bumper. Luckily, a number of police officers came and managed to prevent the incident from causing more damage.
Head of Traffic Accident Unit of Central Jakarta Police, Adj. Comr. Rahmat Dahlizar confirmed the incident, saying the case was under police investigation.
