Fahrul W. Arbi, director of Budi Kemuliaan hospital, stated that 1 person had died after being shot during the rioting which took place in the Tanah Abang area of Jakarta.
The victim, who is identified as Farhan Syafero, died Wednesday morning.

Yesterday, the General Elections Commission (KPU) declared Joko Widodo as the winner of the 2019 presidential election. His rival Prabowo Subianto has initially thrown allegations of massive electoral fraud and cheating at Jokowi’s camp, hinting at a ‘people power’ movement.
Last night, a group of people had reportedly attempted to force entry at the Election Supervisory Board office or Bawaslu at around 11 pm. This was a further catalyst for the rioting at Brimob dormitory (Police Mobile Brigade) building in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. This morning, the mobs attempted to set the building on fire and destroyed at least 11 cars. No injuries or casualties have been reported so far at the Brimob dormitory.
As of 6.30 am, the 17 injured victims of the Tanah Abang rioting have been escorted to Budi Kemuliaan hospital. Two of them were referred to Tarakan Hospital. The injuries were mostly caused by the throwing of stones and tear gas.
